FAQ Execution

Why does my withdrawal sometimes take longer than expected?

Short answer

The common causes are incomplete identity verification, first-time withdrawals to an unverified destination account, and transfers during market closure or outside banking hours.

A delayed withdrawal is usually administrative rather than a liquidity problem, but the two are indistinguishable from the client side. Here is how to tell them apart.

Most common causes

  • Identity verification incomplete. Automated payouts only activate after documents are approved. Complete this before you need the funds, not after.
  • Unverified destination account. Withdrawals to an account or method not in your own name are usually rejected. The destination must match your verified identity.
  • Outside banking hours. Weekend and public holiday submissions wait for the payment system to reopen.
  • Destination on the broker’s restricted list. Cards and accounts issued in high-risk jurisdictions are frequently blocked.
  • Third-party deposits. Deposits from an unrelated third party trigger a source-of-funds review.

How to avoid delays entirely

  1. Complete identity verification immediately after registration.
  2. Add and verify your withdrawal destination in advance, in your own name.
  3. Withdraw during your broker’s published processing window.
  4. Keep a record of every transaction reference.

Broker differences worth checking

Some brokers operate genuinely automated withdrawal systems that run around the clock; others queue during business hours. Ask specifically whether the payout is automated or manually reviewed — it materially changes what “2–4 business days” actually means.
